Utah HC signs defenceman Robert Bortuzzo to one-year deal

The Utah Hockey Club signed veteran defenceman Robert Bortuzzo to a one-year, two-way contract on Saturday.

Bortuzzo split last season between the New York Islanders and St. Louis Blues but struggled with injuries, appearing in just 27 games.

The 35-year-old from Thunder Bay, Ont., has played in 560 career games with the Blues, Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins. He won a Stanley Cup with the Blues in 2019.

Utah has revamped its blue line this off-season having also added Mikhail Sergachev, John Marino and Ian Cole.
