The Minnesota Wild are adding some championship pedigree to their forward corps.
Nico Sturm agreed to reunite with the Wild on a two-year, $4-million deal worth $2 million in AAV, the team announced on Tuesday.
Sturm was a mid-season pickup last season by the Florida Panthers, landing with the Cup champs alongside a 2027 seventh-round pick from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a 2026 fourth.
The 30-year-old totalled seven goals and 14 points across 62 games with the Panthers and Sharks.
A left-shot centre, Sturm skated in eight of Florida’s post-season contests.
Sturm has played in seven NHL seasons, spending time with Minnesota and Colorado, along with his stops in San Jose and Florida.
He began his NHL career with the Wild as an undrafted free agent, debuting with the team in the 2018-19 season. He spent parts of the first four years of his career in Minnesota before being dealt to the Avalanche.
While a member of the Avalanche in 2021-22, Sturm helped the Avalanche win the 2022 Stanley Cup.
