While the Wild's stars saved their best work for even-strength hockey on Tuesday, the Oilers cashed in for three power-play goals — the last of which came on a laser beam from Evan Bouchard in overtime.

Kirill Marchenko enjoyed a goal in his return to Columbus, while Easton Cowan continued to show major progress on a memorable night for the Maple Leafs.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 32 points and the Oklahoma City Thunder opened their season with a 116-104 victory over the San Antonio Spurs, the team that ended their dreams of a title defence last season.

This 4-3 overtime loss for the Montreal Canadiens was the result of a series of bad decisions, and the last one will haunt the player who needed a win most.
