Red Bull Racing's Sergio Perez is out of the Canadian Grand Prix due to a mechanical failure.

The Mexican driver pulled out of the race on Lap 8. Red Bull manager Christian Horner said he had a gearbox issue.

Haas driver Mick Schumacher was the next to go, exiting on Lap 20, also due to suspected mechanical issues. AlphaTauri's Yuki Tsunoda was next, sliding on to the grass and then into the wall on Lap 49.

The Canadian Grand Prix is back for the 2022 season at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve after COVID-19 forced its cancellation in both 2020 and 2021.
