Repeat winners highlight Edmonton Indy history

Will Power had a streak of eighth road/street course poles come to an end when Takuma Sato took the top spot on the grid for the 2011 Edmonton Indy.

Power started second, but it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish and it was Power who claimed the checkered flags.

It was the first race under the altered Edmonton track, but Power showed why he’s an expert on road/street courses and Penske finally took that 1-2 finish that eluded them a year prior.

The very first lap saw Alex Tagliani collide with Graham Rahal, who then collected Paul Tracy and Sebastian Saavedra. Neither Rahal nor Tracy managed to complete a single lap.

Top 5:
1. Will Power

2. Helio Castroneves

3. Dario Franchitti

4. Tony Kanaan

5. Justin Wilson
