Former Toronto Blue Jays top prospect Ricky Tiedemann pitched for the first time in 706 days on Tuesday.
The hard-throwing lefty allowed one run on two hits over a single inning of work, striking out two for the Florida Coast League Blue Jays.
Tiedemann, 23, last appeared in a game on July 10, 2024 with the triple-A Buffalo Bisons, and missed the rest of that season and all of 2025 due to Tommy John surgery.
He began to ramp up at the start of spring training in 2026, but was shut down after experiencing left elbow soreness in a side session.
Despite his extended injury absence, Tiedemann has still retained much of his prospect pedigree, currently ranking No. 4 on the Blue Jays top 30 prospects according to MLB Pipeline.
Tiedemann was the No. 1-ranked prospect in the Blue Jays system entering the 2024 season and also peaked at No. 29 on MLB Pipeline's top 100 list.
With a fastball that tops out at 98 m.p.h. from the left side, Tiedemann could be a candidate to move through the Blue Jays system quickly if he performs well and stays healthy.
