Bautista, Kawasaki stay loose with stretches

Jose Bautista and Munenori Kawasaki warm up before Monday's game.

Sometimes it takes more than a deep-knee bend or two to get loose for a major-league baseball game.

Munenori Kawasaki’s pre-game warm up routine includes headstands, dance moves and, apparently, foam rolls.

Now, he’s getting Jose Bautista involved, too. The two-time home run champion posted a video to his Twitter and Vine accounts documenting a pre-game stretch with Kawasaki in the Blue Jays’ clubhouse.

The brief video shows Bautista and Kawasaki loosening up by rolling back and forth on cylindrical stretching aids.

Bautista used the hashtag #FoamRoll101 when captioning the video for his 347,000-plus Twitter followers.

Despite the pre-game stretches, neither Bautista nor Kawasaki collected a hit or a walk in Monday’s game. However, Toronto won its sixth consecutive game to improve to 33-36.
