Gallen, 23, is the Marlins’ fifth-ranked prospect. The right-handed pitcher has appeared in seven MLB this season, registering a 2.72 ERA in 36 innings pitched.
Chisholm is Arizona’s top-rated prospect. The 21-year-old shortstop is batting .204/.305/.427 in Double-A this season.
2:40 p.m. ET: Nationals continue run of relievers with Hunter Strickland
To Washington: Hunter Strickland
To Seattle: Aaron Fletcher
The Nationals are gearing up for a run here, acquiring yet another relief pitcher — their third today, and second from Seattle — in Strickland.
Strickland, 30, has been limited this season by a lat strain suffered early in the year. The Nationals are no doubt hoping he rebounds down the stretch.
2:30 p.m. ET: Athletics bring in rental arm Tanner Roark
To Oakland: Tanner Roark, cash

The Oakland Athletics have brought in some pitching help by trading for Tanner Roark. The right-handed pitcher will be a free agent after this season.

2:15 p.m. ET: Nationals stocking up on relievers, bring in Elias
To Washington: Roenis Elias

Not long after reportedly agreeing to a trade to bring in Daniel Hudson from the Blue Jays, the Nationals are trading for another relief pitcher in Roenis Elias.
2 p.m. ET: Blue Jays continue to sell, deal Hudson to Nationals
To Toronto: Kyle Johnston
To Washington: Daniel Hudson
The 2019 season was Hudson’s first with the Blue Jays, having signed as a free agent in March. In 45 appearances, the relief pitcher registered a 3.00 ERA with 48 strikeouts.
Johnston, 23, has spent most of this season in advanced-A. In 20 starts, the pitching prospect has a 9-9 record with a 4.03 ERA and 100 strikeouts.

1 p.m. ET: Astros trade for Maldonado… again
To Houston: Martín Maldonado
To Chicago Cubs: Tony Kemp
Talk about deja vu… this isn’t the first time the Astros have traded for Maldonado. They picked him up at last year’s deadline, too, in a deal with the Angels. Maldonado went on to sign with the Kansas City Royals in free agency before being traded to the Chicago Cubs and now ultimately ends up back with the Astros.
.That's a good one. Went to the #WhiteSox 2 years in a row.

12:30 p.m.: Rays, Brewers make first big splash of deadline day
To Tampa Bay: Jesus Aguilar
To Milwaukee: Jacob Faria
Aguilar had a strong 2018 — the first baseman hit a career-high 35 home runs and was named an all-star — but hasn’t been able to match his numbers this season. The 29-year-old is hitting .225/.320/.374 with eight homers and 34 RBIs in 94 games this year so far.

11:44 a.m. ET: Rangers, White Sox get creative
To Texas: Nate Jones, international slot compensation, cash considerations
To Chicago: Joe Jarneski, Ray Castro
Jones, who was the longest-tenured member of the White Sox, has been dealing with a right forearm injury and was placed on Chicago’s 60-day DL. He’ll now ride out the rest of the season on the Rangers’ 60-day DL as he continues to rehab.
July 30, 10:10 p.m.: Indians, Reds, Padres bring the drama before the deadline
To Cleveland: Yasiel Puig, Scott Moss (from Reds); Franmil Reyes, Logan Allen, Victor Nova (from Padres)
To Cincinatti: Trevor Bauer (from Indians)
To San Diego: Taylor Trammell (from Reds)
Puig wasn’t only at the centre of Tuesday night’s mid-game trade — the outfielder, at the time unaware he was on his way out of town, was also at the centre of a big brawl that broke out during the game against Pittsburgh.
