Gibbons: Donaldson, Tulowitzki to rejoin Blue Jays on Friday

Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins joined The Jeff Blair Show to talk about the team’s injured stars potentially returning to the lineup.

The Toronto Blue Jays will activate third baseman Josh Donaldson and shortstop Troy Tulowitzki from the disabled list on Friday against the Texas Rangers, says manager John Gibbons.

The infielders are coming off rehab stints with the class-A Dunedin Blue Jays. Donaldson has been out since April 14 with a right calf injury, while Tulowitzki has been sidelined since April 21 with a right hamstring strain.

The Blue Jays (21-26) completed a two-game sweep over the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday and return to Toronto for a 10-game homestand beginning with Friday’s opener of a three-game set against Texas.
