Baseball world celebrates Jackie Robinson Day off the field

Since 2004, MLB has celebrated Jackie Robinson Day to honour the legacy of the man who broke baseball’s colour barrier over 70 years ago.

In past years, that celebration happened out on the field with players and umpires donning Robinson’s signature No. 42.

Given MLB’s ongoing pause due to the COVID-19 crisis, such a tribute wasn’t possible this year. But that didn’t stop the baseball world from showing their appreciation for the ground-breaking second baseman.
