Blister issue limits Blue Jays’ Sanchez to four innings vs. Red Sox

Toronto Blue Jays starter Aaron Sanchez talks about his start and the frustration of having to deal with yet another blister.

Aaron Sanchez just can’t seem to escape blister issues.

The Toronto Blue Jays right-hander pitched just four innings in his start against the Boston Red Sox Wednesday evening because of a blister he was developing on his pitching hand.

“He developed a bit of a blister so we took him out,” Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said after Toronto’s 5-1 defeat to Boston. “Hopefully we got it in time.”

Sanchez was largely ineffective in his four innings pitched, allowing all five runs, three earned, spread out over six hits and three walks to just two strikeouts.

Blister problems on the 25-year-old’s pitching hand have plagued him all season long and has forced three stints on the disabled list.
