For the second consecutive year the Toronto Blue Jays were ranked as the 16th-most valuable MLB franchise, according to Forbes.
Canada’s lone major league franchise, owned by Rogers Communications, is worth an estimated $1.5 billion after a 2017 valuation of $1.35 billion.

Baseball’s most valuable franchise remains the New York Yankees. Their total rose 15 per cent in the past year to $4.6 billion, a whopping $1.3 billion more than the second-place Los Angeles Dodgers. Rounding out the top five are the iconic Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs and San Francisco Giants franchises, all of which are list at at least $3 billion.
Every franchise was valuated at $1 billion or more with the Miami Marlins ranking 30th. The average MLB franchise is worth $1.78 billion in 2019, which is eight per cent higher than the 2018 average.
