Blue Jays’ Aaron Sanchez to throw bullpen session on weekend

Arden Zwelling and Jeff Blair discuss some of the players within the Toronto Blue Jays organization that could get called up to the MLB in September.

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Aaron Sanchez will throw a side session this weekend and the team still hopes he’ll pitch again this season.

Sanchez has been limited to only eight starts this season with a lingering blister on his pitching hand. His last start came on July 19 and he has been on the DL since July 22.

“It’s just a waiting game now,” Sanchez said at the time. “You’ve got to make sure that blood and everything dries up, that skin underneath there gets hard, and then you should be in good shape.”

Sanchez last threw off flat ground on Aug. 19. If all goes well this weekend he could get some innings out of the bullpen before the season ends.
