The Toronto Blue Jays added some pitching depth Sunday, acquiring right-hander Nick Tepesch from the Minnesota Twins for cash considerations, according to Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press.

Tepesch established himself as a big-league arm when he started 39 games for the Texas Rangers from 2013-14 and posted a 4.56 ERA over 219 innings. The 28-year-old missed the entire 2015 season recovering from Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, but returned in 2016 when he split the season between the Rangers, Dodgers, Athletics and Royals organizations.

Tepesch has spent most of the 2017 season at the minor-league level, though he did start one game for the Twins in May. He has a 5.59 ERA in 29 innings at triple-A Rochester but he’s presently sidelined with right elbow impingement and last pitched in a game July 6 for the Twins’ Gulf Coast League affiliate.
