The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired right-handed pitchers Edisson Gonzalez and Canadian Curtis Taylor from the Tampa Bay Rays to complete the July trade for Eric Sogard.

Toronto sent Sogard to the Rays on July 28 for two players to be named later.

Gonzalez, 19, posted a 4-2 record with a 2.45 earned-run average and 77 strikeouts over 62 1/3 innings with Class A Hudson Valley this season.

The five-foot-10, 160-pounder started 11 games while appearing in relief on two occasions. He signed with the Rays as an international free agent in 2016 and has a 2.72 ERA over 158 2/3 innings in three minor league seasons.

Taylor, a 24-year-old from Port Coquitlam, B.C., had seven saves in nine opportunities this year with double-A Montgomery while posting a 3.06 ERA in 15 appearances.

The six-foot-six, 230-pound Taylor was acquired by the Rays in 2017 from the Arizona Diamondbacks for pitcher Brad Boxberger.

He attended the University of British Columbia and has a combined 2.84 ERA and 204 strikeouts over 174.1 innings in four minor-league seasons.
