The Toronto Blue Jays added former Los Angeles Dodgers general manager Dan Evans to their scouting staff.
Evans, who was a popular contributor to the prominent baseball website baseballprospectus.com, made the announcement via Twitter Friday.
I am excited to join the @bluejays scouting staff, & look forward to contributing all I can to help bring Toronto another World Championship

Evans was the Dodgers general manager from 2001-04 where he helped rebuild one of the lowest-ranked farm systems in baseball. Under his guidance, the Dodgers landed all-star centre Matt Kemp in the sixth round of the 2003 MLB Draft.
In December, the Chicago native ranked No. 16 on Baseball America’s Top 50 Baseball-Related Twitter accounts where they said he “offers a unique perspective as a former general manager and agent.”
