The Toronto Blue Jays will be searching for an end to a four-game losing streak that has dumped them into fourth place in the AL East standings when they open a three-game series against the visiting Los Angeles Angels in a Tuesday night contest pegged as a pick’em on the MLB odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Toronto is coming off a demoralizing 9-2 loss to Oakland as a -103 wager on Sunday, continuing a dismal run that has seen the club fall to defeat in 13 of 18 outings ahead of Tuesday’s Angels versus Blue Jays betting matchup at Rogers Centre.

The Blue Jays have regularly surrendered huge run totals during their recent slide. The club was outscored by a 27-12 margin while getting swept in their four-game set with the A’s, and has surrendered nine or more runs in three of its past six games and six of 17 outings overall.

The effects of the Blue Jays’ recent struggles have been swiftly felt at the sportsbooks, with the club tumbling to +4000 on the World Series odds after opening the campaign at +2500, and trailing as a distant +3500 bet to claim the AL East division crown, well back of the +500 odds it sported on opening day.

This week’s series with the Angels closes out a run of 15 games that has featured 13 contests at Rogers Centre. The Blue Jays have gone 2-8 over the first 10 home dates during that stretch, extending their brutal run of play on home turf to 3-12 in their past 15, and burying the memory of a 8-3 run at home to start the season.

Things get no easier for the Blue Jays against Los Angeles. Toronto has dropped six of nine overall to the Angels, according to the OddsShark MLB Database, and has failed to record a series win over Los Angeles since July 2012, going 5-13 in 18 home meetings since.

However, the Angels have endured some recent struggles of their own, and limp into Toronto after escaping with a 5-2 win over the visiting Tampa Bay Rays as -195 chalk on Sunday to put the brakes on a five-game slide.

The Angels went a disappointing 4-7 during their recent 11-game homestand, and are just 6-9 in their past 15 overall. But Los Angeles has been a force on the road this season, leading the majors with a 14-4 record away from Angel Stadium to remain in the thick of the AL West division race, just 3.5 games back of the first-place Houston Astros.
