Blue Jays assign five pitchers to minor-league camp

John Gibbons joined Jeff Blair from Montreal as the Blue Jays wind down their spring training and what he is expecting from the team and fans from their annual visit to Quebec.

The Toronto Blue Jays continue to work towards finalizing their opening day roster, assigning five pitchers to minor-league camp Monday.

Right-handers Al Alburquerque, Rhiner Cruz, Deck McGuire and Luis Santos as well as lefty Chad Girodo have all been reassigned.

Toronto will play two exhibition games in Montreal Monday and Tuesday before opening the regular season Thursday against the New York Yankees at Rogers Centre.
