After enjoying a day off on Monday the Toronto Blue Jays hit the road for their first interleague series of the season on Tuesday, taking on the New York Mets as +155 underdogs on the MLB odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Toronto will be looking to bounce back in their first meeting with New York in three years after dropping two of three to the AL East-leading Boston Red Sox over the weekend to fall to 4-8 over its past 12 outings ahead of Tuesday night’s Blue Jays versus Mets betting matchup at Citi Field.

The Blue Jays have struggled since opening their schedule with victories in 13 of 19 outings. With Sunday’s 5-3 loss to Boston as +118 home underdogs, the Blue Jays now sit just one game above .500, and enter the week trailing the Red Sox and the surging New York Yankees by 7.5 games in the division standings.
Toronto’s recent slide has also weakened the club’s position on the MLB futures, where they remain stalled at +2800 on the World Series odds after briefly climbing to +2500 in mid-April.
Toronto dominated in their last two-game clash with the Mets in June 2015, outscoring New York by a combined margin of 15-1 in a pair of victories at Rogers Centre. However, the Blue Jays have enjoyed no success when taking on the Mets in the Big Apple, losing eight all-time road meetings since 1999, including a pair of one-run defeats three years ago.

The Mets, though, have also endured hard times since opening their schedule on a torrid 11-1 run, failing to tally consecutive wins and posting just one series victory during a dismal 8-17 run that has dumped them into fourth place in the NL East standings.
The Mets return home on Tuesday after dropping two of three in Philadelphia, capped by Sunday’s 4-2 loss as +116 underdogs. But the club has also performed poorly on home turf, losing six straight at Citi Field, and has been held to two or fewer runs in eight of its past 13 overall, including a trio of shutout losses during its most recent homestand.
Not surprisingly, the Mets’ recent struggles have rocked their position on the World Series odds, where they have fallen to +2200, well back of the +1100 odds they sported in mid-April.
Following their two-game set with New York the Blue Jays return home to start a four-game series with the Oakland A’s. Toronto has taken five straight games from the A’s, who opened a three-game series in Boston on Monday night with a 6-5 win.
