The Toronto Blue Jays will continue a five-game stretch of interleague play on Tuesday when they open a two-game series against the Atlanta Braves as narrow home underdogs on the MLB odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

Toronto continued its recent strong play at home over the weekend with a three-game sweep of the Washington Nationals, capped by Sunday’s 8-6 victory as a +120 wager that extended the club’s home winning streak to seven games going into Tuesday night’s Braves versus Blue Jays betting matchup at Rogers Centre.

The Blue Jays’ newfound consistency on home turf comes on the heels of a dismal 4-16 run at home that quickly dumped them into fourth place in the AL East standings. Toronto hitters have been getting it done at the plate during their current surge at Rogers Centre, averaging six runs per game while cranking out 17 total home runs including three in Sunday’s win over the Nationals that lifted the Blue Jays to fifth in the majors in long balls.

Last weekend’s sweep of Washington also extended the Blue Jays’ solid play in interleague action this season. Toronto has now taken six of eight from NL opponents, and is 14-7 in its past 21, according to the OddsShark MLB Database.

However, the Blue Jays have posted shaky results in dates with Atlanta in recent years, going 7-8 in their past 15 overall against the Braves since June 2012, including a 2-5 record in seven home meetings. The club also dropped three of four to the Braves last season, including a split of a two-game series at home.

High scoring quickly emerged as the hallmark of last year’s home-and-home clash against Atlanta, with the two clubs combining to score 51 total runs over four games, extending a solid run for the OVER in totals betting to 11-4 in their past 15 clashes.

But it is a stingy Braves squad that arrives in Toronto after taking three of four from San Diego over the weekend to pad its lead atop the NL East standings.

Winners of just 72 games in 2017, the Braves have emerged as one of the big surprise stories of the current campaign. Atlanta has posted consecutive losses just once during the 13-8 overall run that has lifted it to the top of the division.

However, the Braves have struggled on the road over the past month, going 4-8 in their past 12, and continue to trail the heavily favoured Nationals on the NL East odds as a +230 bet.
