The Toronto Blue Jays have claimed right-handed reliever Anthony Bass off waivers from the Seattle Mariners, the team announced Tuesday.

In a corresponding move to open up space on the 40-man roster, the Blue Jays designated right-hander Ryan Dull for assignment.

Bass, 31, went 2-4 with a 3.56 ERA and 43 strikeouts across 48.0 innings with the Mariners last season.

The six-foot-two, 200-pound pitcher from Dearborn, Mich., has compiled a 7-13 record with a 4.38 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP over eight MLB seasons also spent with the Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers, Houston Astros and San Diego Padres.
