Blue Jays’ Devon Travis to undergo precautionary X-rays on hand

Sportsnet’s Arash Madani spoke with Teoscar Hernandez about bringing in the go-ahead run with a RBI double in the seventh inning.

Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Devon Travis will be sent for precautionary X-rays after he was hit in the right hand with a pitch on Friday night.

Travis was drilled with an 89.4-mph fastball in the top of the ninth from Cleveland Indians right-hander Matt Belisle. He stayed in the game and eventually came around to score, but in the bottom of the inning he was replaced in the field by Gift Ngoepe.

The 27-year-old Travis has missed significant time over his three-plus big-league seasons with shoulder and knee injuries.

He is hitting .079 (3-for-40) in 11 games this season.
