Blue Jays’ Dickey underwent off-season surgery

Blue Jays announcer Buck Martinez joins Jeff Blair to discuss why there’s a different aura about these Blue Jays heading into this season, after getting a good taste last season.

Toronto Blue Jays pitcher R.A. Dickey underwent minor meniscus surgery on his right knee early in the off-season.

Speaking to reporters just one day before pitchers and catchers hold their first official workout, Dickey arrived at the Blue Jays’ spring training facility in Dunedin and declared he is ready to pitch. The knuckleballer doesn’t foresee any lingering effects from the injury.

The 41-year-old started 33 games for Toronto in 2015, posting an 11-11 record and 3.91 ERA. He was outstanding after the all-star break, going 8-1 with a 2.80 ERA.
