Toronto Blue Jays infielder Freddy Galvis was a late scratch from the starting lineup Monday against the Kansas City Royals with lower back tightness.
Galvis was originally announced as the starting second baseman for the opener of a three-game set. Cavan Biggio will move from designated hitter to second base.
With the trade deadline on Wednesday, Galvis has been linked to rumours about potentially being dealt.
In 102 games this season, the 29-year-old is hitting .263/.299/.435 with 15 home runs and 48 RBIs.
