Blue Jays’ Guerrero Jr. leaves game vs. Orioles with left rib injury

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was forced to leave the Toronto Blue Jays‘ dramatic comeback victory against the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday with what the team is describing as a left rib injury.

Further details on the severity of the injury and Guerrero Jr.’s status moving forward are not known at this time.

The injury occurred during in the ninth inning when Guerrero Jr. slid head-first into second base. In the clubhouse after the game, Guerrero Jr. had the left side of his torso wrapped in ice, according to Sportsnet’s Arash Madani.

Guerrero Jr. had gone 2-for-6 with one run and one strikeout on the evening prior to being injured. Toronto went on to win the game, 11-10.
