Blue Jays’ Hyun-Jin Ryu to make first spring start vs. Twins

Charlie Montoyo announces when Hyun-jin Ryu will make his spring training debut and how many innings he could pitch.

Hyun-Jin Ryu will make his first spring training start with the Toronto Blue Jays on Feb. 27 against the Minnesota Twins, manager Charlie Montoyo announced.

Ryu agreed to a four-year, $80-million contract with Toronto this past off-season after posting a 14-5 record with a 2.32 ERA and 163 strikeouts in 29 starts with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The team also announced that Ryan Borucki is expected to resume playing catch on Monday after suffering elbow tightness on Feb. 14.
