The Toronto Blue Jays off-season gambles are paying off, at least in the eyes of online oddsmakers.
Following an unprecedented winter that saw the franchise acquire several established stars in blockbuster trades and free agency, including 2012 NL CY Young award winner R.A. Dickey, the Blue Jays have suddenly become the odds-on favourite to win the World Series in 2013 according to several sports-betting websites.
Bovada currently lists the Blue Jays odds at 15/2, slightly ahead of the two Los Angeles-based teams at 17/2.
The @bovadalv World Series odds: Odds to win the 2013 World Series: TOR 15/2, LAD 17/2, LAA 17/2, WAS 9/1, DET 10/1, CIN 12/1.

Meanwhile, Grantland’s Jonah Keri had this to say on Toronto’s chances.
That’s a tad aggressive. RT @si–joelemire After Dickey trade, Bovada has installed Blue Jays as new World Series favorites with 15/2 odds.

Bovada isn’t the only betting site that has taken notice of the Blue Jays’ moves, as Bodog has listed Toronto as their World Series favourite at 15/2, with the two Los Angeles-based teams next at 17/2.
From bodog.ca odds for WS. #BlueJays 15/2 #Angels and #Dodgers 17/2 the #yankees are only the 8th choice and #rays may be best value 22/1
