Off to a 2-10 start and plagued with injuries to key players Josh Donaldson, Aaron Sanchez and J.A. Happ, the Toronto Blue Jays could use some good news and it would appear team president Mark Shapiro has just provided some.
Speaking at a Toronto Pitch Talks show, Shapiro told the crowd on hand that he believes the injury Happ sustained may not be as bad as first feared.
Happ exited Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles in the fifth inning with elbow soreness, a weary sign that he might have to miss a significant amount of time.
The 34-year-old left-hander is winless three starts this season with a 4.50 ERA to go along with 20 strikeouts in 16 innings pitched.
