Blue Jays’ new dirt infield nearing completion

The new dirt infield at Rogers Centre is nearing completion.

Stephen R. Brooks, the team’s senior vice president of business, shared a photo on Tuesday of clay being laid and answered questions on the progress of the playing surface. The infield turf has also been reinstalled since the last update.

The Blue Jays, who were the only team without a dirt infield, open at home April 8 against the Boston Red Sox.
