Following their 4-2 loss to the New York Yankees Sunday, the Toronto Blue Jays optioned Rowdy Tellez to triple-A Buffalo, according to Sportsnet’s Shi Davidi.
Davidi adds that the expected corresponding roster move will see Billy McKinney recalled to the big leagues.
In 77 games with the Blue Jays so far this season, Tellez has hit .228 along with 14 home runs and 40 RBIs. As for McKinney, he’s compiled a .215 average in 164 major-league at-bats in 2019, while adding four home runs and 11 RBIs.
