Blue Jays’ Osuna, Saunders away on paternity leave

Blue Jays pitching coach Pete Walker tells Baseball Central while he doesn't write the cheques, and budget is budget, Brett Anderson would be a great fit in the rotation going forward.

The Toronto Blue Jays will be without closer Roberto Osuna and outfielder Michael Saunders for Monday night’s game against the Baltimore Orioles due to the birth of their respective children.

Saunders has only played in five games with the Blue Jays this season, and has three hits and two walks in eight plate appearances.

Osuna hasn’t been his typically dominant self since July 29, having blown six save opportunities and pitching to an 8.10 earned-run average in 17 appearances in that span.

The 22-year-old has a 3.66 ERA in 61 games this season.
