Blue Jays outright OF Ramirez, RHP Rowley from 40-man roster

The Toronto Blue Jays have outrighted outfielder Harold Ramirez and right-handed pitcher Chris Rowley from the 40-man roster.

Ramirez, 23, was acquired by the Blue Jays from the Pittsburgh Pirates for pitcher Drew Hutchinson in August of 2016. This season he played with double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats where he hit .266/.320/.358 with six home runs in 121 games.

Rowley, 27, made three starts and appeared in six games for the Blue Jays this season. He had a 6.25 ERA with 11 strikeouts in those appearances.

According to Sportsnet’s Shi Davidi, the Blue Jays now have 34 players on their roster. The team has until 8 p.m. tonight to add any of the following players, Rowdy Tellez, Conner Greene, Danny Jansen, Max Pentecost, Thomas Pannone, Jordan Romano, Andrew Case, Reese McGuire to their roster or else they will be exposed for the Rule 5 Draft.
