The Toronto Blue Jays announced Monday that pitcher David Paulino has cleared release waivers, according to Sportsnet’s Ben Nicholson-Smith.
The 25-year-old was acquired by the Blue Jays last year when they shipped closer Roberto Osuna to the Houston Astros. Along with Paulino, closer Ken Giles and right-hander Hector Perez came to the Jays as part of the deal.
Paulino was designated for assignment last week.
He has a 3.45 ERA with 27 strikeouts across 28.2 innings with triple-A Buffalo this season.
