Blue Jays place Richard on 10-day injured list, recall Reid-Foley

Rowdy Tellez had a three-run home run to tie the game but the Detroit Tigers came out on top with 4-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Toronto Blue Jays have placed left-handed pitcher Clayton Richard on the 10-day injured list with a right-knee stress reaction.

The move is retroactive to March 29.

Sean Reid-Foley was recalled from triple-A Buffalo to replace Richard and will start for Toronto in its game against the Baltimore Orioles on Monday.

Reid-Foley finished with a 2-4 record for the Blue Jays last season and had a 5.13 ERA over 33 1/3 innings.

Toronto acquired Richard and cash considerations from the Padres in late December for outfielder Connor Panaas.
