Blue Jays prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. placed on DL

Fresh off injury, Blue Jays top prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was forced to leave the Fisher Cats game again, after gingerly running out an infield single, then sliding into 2nd awkwardly.

Toronto Blue Jays prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been placed on the seven-day disabled list.

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats third baseman left Wednesday’s game with a leg injury after sliding into second during the fourth inning against the Akron RubberDucks. The 19-year-old immediately signalled to medical staff and was pulled from the game.

“He feels fine, we’re just being cautious with it,” Fisher Cats manager John Schneider said after Wednesday’s game. “Just to make sure whenever he’s back to be full strength.”

Guerrero has been on a tear in double-A this season, hitting .401/.453/.663 with 11 home runs through 52 games.
