The Toronto Blue Jays have recalled infielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. from triple-A Buffalo.

It is a corresponding roster move from Sunday, when the club optioned utility man Darnell Sweeney to the Bisons.

Gurriel Jr., 24, slashed .222/.243/.361 with three home runs during 21 games with the Blue Jays earlier this season, playing shortstop and second base.

In triple-A, he was hitting .281/.308/.452 with five homers across 34 games.
