Blue Jays’ Ryan Borucki gets Twitter shoutout from Bret Hart

Baseball Central discussion on how important 2019 Spring Training is for Blue Jays starter Aaron Sanchez to start looking like Aaron Sanchez.

It looks like Ryan Borucki has gained a new fan during what has been a stellar rookie season with the Toronto Blue Jays:

The Best There Is, The Best There Was and The Best There Ever Will Be.

That’s right, Bret “Hitman” Hart — the Canadian wrestling icon — is an avid supporter of the 24-year-old left-hander.

Hart gave Borucki a shout out on Twitter Tuesday night before the rookie toed the rubber at Fenway Park against the Boston Red Sox.

Hey @ryan_borucki. I heard you’re a fan. I’m a fan of yours too. Good luck tonight against the Red Sox and I hope to see you pitch in person soon.

Borucki ended up tossing a strong outing, allowing two runs on three hits over 6.1 innings in the no-decision, an eventual Blue Jays loss. On the season, he owns a 4.26 ERA and 3.76 FIP over 14 starts and 76 innings.

He replied to Hart in a quote tweet Wednesday morning.

Thank you for the support, Hitman! Hopefully i’ll see you at a game soon. And by the way the Sharpshooter is still my favorite finisher of all time #BestThereEverWillBe https://t.co/vbvZHDqEGK
