Sean Reid-Foley will start in place of Clayton Richard for the Toronto Blue Jays in Monday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles, according to Sportsnet’s Shi Davidi.

Richard is currently dealing with a right knee stress reaction that will sideline him for an indeterminate amount of time.

Reid-Foley made seven starts for Toronto last season, pitching to a 2-4 record and 5.13 ERA in 33.1 innings. The 23-year-old is currently ranked as the Blue Jays’ No. 9 prospect.

In other Blue Jays news, manager Charlie Montoyo announced that after starting Sunday’s game against the Detroit Tigers, Trent Thornton will make an additional spot start in the rotation as Ryan Borucki continues to recover from left elbow soreness.
