TORONTO — The Toronto Blue Jays have signed outfielder Chris Heisey to a minor-league deal and will assess him at triple-A Buffalo.
Heisey, 30, was recently released by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
In 17 games this season, the right-handed batter has four hits and eight walks in 34 plate appearances. A good defender, he has experience at all three outfield spots.
The Blue Jays have been on the lookout for another outfielder since the deadline has passed. They’re carrying a short bench with an eight-man bullpen right now.
