Blue Jays activate McGowan, demote Crawford

The Toronto Blue Jays activated right-handed pitcher Dustin McGowan on Saturday, optioning reliever Todd Redmond to triple-A Buffalo and making room on the 40-man roster by designating Evan Crawford for assignment.

McGowan started the 2013 season on the 15-day disabled list. The Blue Jays moved McGowan to the 60-day disabled list where he then started a rehab assignment with the single-A Dunedin Blue Jays on May 14.

 

After two appearances with Dunedin he recorded two innings pitched, one hit, four strike outs and zero runs allowed.

McGowan’s rehab assignment was transferred to the Bisons effective May 18. He recorded nine innings pitched, 10 hits, 12 strike outs, seven runs allowed.
