Toronto Blue Jays closer Roberto Osuna has been transferred to triple-A Buffalo, where he is expected to pitch a rehab assignment.

Osuna is serving a 75-game suspension for violating Major League Baseball’s joint domestic violence policy after being charged with assault on May 8. The 23-year-old became eligible to begin playing in the team’s minor-league system on July 14, and can return to the big-league team on Aug. 5.

Osuna pitched a scoreless inning of relief in single-A Dunedin back on July 17.

The Blue Jays also announced that Ryan Borucki has been recalled from Buffalo and will start against the Minnesota Twins. To make room, the team optioned reliever Tim Mayza to triple-A.
