Toronto Blue Jays prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will not be in the lineup Thursday night against the Los Angeles Angels.
Manager Charlie Montoyo was a guest on MLB Network Radio show Inside Pitch and confirmed the 20-year-old will get the night off to relax.
“He’s kind of going through Spring Training right because he missed so many games and that’s why he is not in the lineup today,” Montoyo said. “Give him a day off to relax a bit then he will probably play the next four days on the road.”
In five games this season Guerrero Jr. is hitting .167/.286/.222 with three hits and three walks.
