MILWAUKEE — Left-hander Doug Davis and the Brewers have finalized a US$5.25-million, one-year contract that brings the starter back to Milwaukee.
Davis is guaranteed $4.25 million this season, and the deal includes a $6.5 million mutual option for 2011 with a $1 million buyout. Davis also can make $1 million more in each season in performance bonuses.
Davis is the second left-handed starter the Brewers have acquired this off-season after earlier signing Randy Wolf to a $29.75 million, three-year deal.
The 34-year-old Davis pitched for Milwaukee from 2003-06. He was 9-14 with a 4.12 ERA last season with Arizona.
Davis has made 33 or more starts in five of the last six years.
