The Toronto Blue Jays will call up Canadian outfielder Dalton Pompey from triple-A Buffalo on Friday, according to Sportsnet’s Shi Davidi.
After dealing with a wrist issue during spring training and the start of the 2018 season, the 25-year-old has played in 10 games for the Bisons since April 20. In 41 at-bats in triple-A, Pompey hit .244/.313/.366 with 10 hits and five RBI.
Pompey will join the Blue Jays for the first time since the fall of 2016 when he appeared in eight games during September and October. Injuries limited the Mississauga native to just 13 total games in 2017 due to concussion and knee issues.
The Blue Jays kick off a three-game set in Tampa Bay on Friday against the Rays.
