Canadian right-handed pitcher Mike Soroka is the first Tournament 12 (T12) alumnus to get the call to the big-leagues since the tournament’s inception in 2013.

Created with the assistance of Toronto Blue Jays Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar, T12 showcases the best amateur baseball talent in Canada with college eligibility.

Soroka, a native of Calgary, Alta., was promoted by the Atlanta Braves from triple-A Gwinnett, where he went 2-0 with a 1.99 ERA in four starts this season.

The 20-year-old will make his MLB debut with a start Tuesday against the New York Mets.
