The Chicago Cubs have acquired reliever Jesse Chavez from the Texas Rangers in exchange for minor-league pitcher Tyler Thomas, the team announced Thursday.

In 56.1 innings this season, the 34-year-old Chavez has pitched to a 3-1 record and 3.51 ERA.

The Cubs will be Chavez’s ninth MLB team of his 11-year career. The right-hander pitched for the Toronto Blue Jays in 2012 and 2016.
