Donaldson named Blue Jays’ finalist for Hank Aaron Award

Toronto Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins addresses the end-of-the-season interaction he had with MVP Josh Donaldson, and says of course they're open to having him long-term.

Josh Donaldson has been named the Toronto Blue Jays‘ finalist for the 2017 Hank Aaron Award, given to the most outstanding offensive performer in each league.

Donaldson won the award in 2015 after taking home MVP honours the same year.

Fans will be able to have their say in picking the winner, with voting available on through Oct. 13. A special panel of Hall of Fame players, led by Hank Aaron himself, will also vote on the winners.

Other notable finalists include Canada’s own Joey Votto, perennial MVP candidate Mike Trout, and New York Yankees rookie slugger Aaron Judge. Check out the full list below.
