Donaldson, Tulowitzki have strong outings during rehab assignment

Watch as Josh Donaldson and Troy Tulowitzki get some reps in on their way to recovering from injuries.

Tuesday was a positive night if you’re a Toronto Blue Jays fan. Not only did the team beat the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 on the road, but Josh Donaldson and Troy Tulowitzki both had strong outings in a rehab game with the class-A Dunedin Blue Jays.

Donaldson was 2-for-3 with one RBI, while Tulowitzki had a solo home run against the Fort Myers Miracle in a 3-2 win. The duo went hitless in Monday’s loss.

Donaldson reportedly made several impressive defensive plays at third base in addition to his contributions on offence. The 2015 American League MVP has only played nine games with Toronto this season due to a calf injury.

“It’s nice to be out there playing with the boys and good to get a win,” Donaldson said via the team’s website.

Donaldson added that he felt “a little sore” after his second rehab game in as many nights but explained that “it’s good soreness.”

This was Tulowitzki’s fifth rehab game as he recovers from a hamstring strain.
