Nobody hits baseballs with the vicious power of Giancarlo Stanton.
The Miami Marlins slugger hammered a ball to left field in the top of the fourth inning of Saturday’s World Baseball Classic meeting between the United States and the Dominican Republic to give the Americans a 4-2 lead.
With an exit velocity of 117.3 m.p.h., Stanton’s home run was the fourth-hardest-hit homer since Statcast began tracking these things in 2008.
It may come as no surprise that Stanton has also hit the two hardest-hit home runs since that time as well.
