Looks like we’ve got another serious scandal silly drama on our hands, baseball fans, and it’s all centred around the subtle art of the shimmy.
Yes, really.
First, Stroman added a little signature shimmy after striking out Xander Bogaerts in the first inning of Monday’s game between the Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox.

In addition to earning a bunch of fire emojis from Baseball Twitter, the move also apparently earned him the ire of Andrew Benintendi.
A few innings later, Benintendi exacted a bit of revenge by hitting a double off Stroman and followed it up with what appeared to be a little shade in the form of a Stroman-like shoulder-shimmy.
Er, sort of:
(He may have also said something, but unfortunately our lip-reading skills leave something to be desired.)
Call it a shimmy, call it a twitch, call it an itch. We’ll just go ahead and call this one #ShimmyGate and have a little fun with what’s been a solid series so far. Game 2 goes ahead Tuesday night. Stay tuned.
